"As VDMA Food Processing and Packaging Machinery Association, we are particularly pleased that the German machinery and plant engineering industry has been appointed Guest of Honor at the 10th anniversary edition of agrofood & plastprintpack Nigeria 2025. We have been present as a sector partner since its first edition in 2015 and have also been active as an applicant and information provider for the German Pavilion since 2017.

Nigeria is an important market for German mechanical engineering and a market with great potential. The 2024 trade fair was bigger than ever before, and the next edition in March 2025 will undoubtedly be another great success. With the growth of the middle class in Nigeria, the demands on food are also increasing. The industry is growing, and more and more German suppliers of food processing and packaging machinery are realising the potential offered by the Nigerian market.

But Nigeria is a complex market. The country is almost three times the size of Germany and is correspondingly culturally diverse. Good contacts and local partners are crucial for the success of companies. The trade fair and the federal participation are therefore an immense support for the market entry of German mechanical engineering companies. We would like to thank the organiser fairtrade for the initiative and the excellent co-operation over the years. Special thanks also go to the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) as the organiser of the German Pavilion as part of the foreign trade fair program in cooperation with the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA). This will also give many German companies the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the Nigerian market and present their innovative technologies to local players in 2025.
